Bonding and lamination with ultrasonic vibration is a thermomechanical process. The energy for the lamination effect is transferred to the fabric through high frequency vibrations. Heat is generated in the gap between the horn and the roll surface at the engraving point due to friction between the fibers. The fibers are melted and welded together precisely at the engraving point. There is no further thermal influence on the surrounding material, so thermoplastic materials with different softening and melting points can be laminated.

Typical applications are the production of filter materials such as vacuum cleaner bags, car filters and similar products.
